Bladder Epicheck

Bladder Epicheck is a non-invasive urine test based on the detection of epigenetic biomarkers associated with bladder cancer.

This technology analyzes DNA modifications present in cancerous cells that are shed in the urine, enabling early detection and accurate monitoring of the disease without the need for frequent invasive tests such as cystoscopy.

What is it used for?

It is used in the diagnosis of bladder cancer in the following clinical scenarios:
  • Early detection of bladder cancer in patients with risk factors such as smoking, family history, or exposure to chemical substances.
  • Post-treatment follow-up in patients already diagnosed and treated, reducing the need for frequent cystoscopies.
  • Evaluation in cases of hematuria (blood in the urine) to rule out the presence of tumor cells in the urinary tract.

Main benefits

  • Non-invasive method → Performed with a simple urine sample, avoiding discomfort and risks associated with procedures like cystoscopy.
  • High sensitivity and specificity → Accurately detect tumor cells through epigenetic analysis, reducing false positives and negatives.
  • More efficient monitoring → Allows for less invasive follow-up in patients with a history of bladder cancer, minimizing repeated examinations.
  • Early diagnosis → Identifies DNA changes before obvious symptoms appear, facilitating timely and more effective treatment.
  • Avoids frequent invasive tests → Reduces the need for repeated cystoscopies in bladder cancer monitoring.
  • Greater comfort for the patient → As a urine-based test, it is performed without discomfort or complex procedures.
